Animation can be quite useful at times but I see many examples where it's out of place or overdone. It can do something very special for you if you find the right niche.

The 'Taps' example above is the first complicated Flash animation I ever attempted. Animation can tell a story you want told.

Or it can be as simple as letters appearing to form a word.
